“The Heavens Are Telling”

A poem based on Psalm 19:1-6

The heavens are telling of God’s glory,

To help us continually draw near;

Their words are often quite silent,

Though their message is seen and quite clear.

The sun in its rising and setting,

We see it continue year after year;

Proving the Creators faithfulness,

So we can live daily without any fear.

The moon’s reflection to us,

Of light coming from the sun;

Speaks of the Father’s image,

Born to us in the Holy One.

The stars and the cancellations,

Hanging high way up in the sky;

God giving us signs of the changing seasons,

And helping the traveler journey by.

The rain and the thunder clapping,

Echoing throughout the land;

Their strength reminding us clearly,

That God is more powerful than man.

The heavens are telling of God’s glory,

They speak of His beauty and fame;

To cause us to revere and worship Him,

Bringing glory to His most holy name.
